Food & Drink | Chefs we love to hate: The Hairy Bikers

For this week's 'Celebrity Chefs we love to hate' we've gone for the un-groomed leather clad culinary/biker duo that is Dave Myers and Simon King, aka The Hairy Bikers.

We?ve all heard the saying that good things come in pairs, but sadly that rarely applies to celebrity chef duos. Take the Hairy Bikers for example, who should have stuck to the old saying that too many cooks spoil the broth.

In the Hairy Bikers case you?ll probably find that there?s more hair in their freshly prepared soup than on their heads. That?s because the duo both have fully fledged beards on their faces and they?ve also lost the battle with male pattern baldness, so you?d want to double check your fork-full before you chow down.

Now, one of the major things that grinds our gears when it comes to Dave Myers and Simon King is the travelogue aspect of their shows. They drive around on their motorbikes taking in the sights and sounds of whatever poor town they?re decided to invade, instead of just getting on with the cooking.

They?re also just a little bit too happy-go-lucky for our liking and they tend to over exaggerate everything. Now, in fairness, they do cook up some seriously good-looking grub, but we wouldn?t go rushing out to taste it for fear of choking on a hairball.

We?re not the only ones to have some beef against the bikers. They?ve actually had the p*ss taken out of them before (quite accurately too) as you?ll see below.
