MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - The Philippines and Mexico today signed an agreement that is expected to improve trade between the two countries.
Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon and Mexican General Administrator Gerardo Perdomo inked the Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance on Customs Matters in a ceremony in Manila.
"The agreement practically tightened the customs operational procedures between the Philippines and Mexico. This would eventually translate in more efficient revenue collection for all trade between the two countries," said Biazon.
The pact is also expected to enable the two countries to better address the problem on smuggling.
