HTC cleared of violating Apple patents says UK judge

With all the news about Samsung and Apple going head-to-head in the USA, you could have been mistaken for thinking that Apple had no other open patent lawsuits against other companies around the world.
A UK judge has ruled that Taiwan based Android manufacturer HTC, who recently launched the HTC One X, One S and One V ...in the UK, did not fall foul of our Apple patents, whilst also ruling that three of Apple?s patents were actually invalid and could not be enforced. One of the patents includes Apple?s famous slide-to-unlock patent, which Judge Christopher Floyd has ruled isn?t a patentable feature. The only patent that was declared to be valid was a procedure regarding scrolling through images in a photo management app (i.e. Gallery) which Judge Floyd found HTC was not in violation of.
